This guy, told her to come to work in her underwear to be equal to men!

So I just heard about the following news and I request you to watch it before you proceed:Mirror Now editor Faye D’Souzashut down this guy who told her to come to work in her underwear to be equal to men.

I won’t repeat the history of women and their struggle for equality because we already know that, studied about that and even if you don’t, then you can Google and know about it from A to Z.

This makes me think, can we ever come out of our hipocracy? Can our thinking actually progress, like for real?

Obviously, what Mulana Sahab said was really saddening. Saddening because I wonder what blunders he must have taught to those numerous people who had come to him.

This incident has already made a splash over web. But will this actually bring any change? These are the same people who would blame Anushka Sharma for bad performance of Virat Kohli and after 10 days would criticise others for the same reason. Afterall they actually work for views.

But I have five questions:

1- Will this mentality ever change?

2- Will women be actually accepted the way it is portrayed on women’s day ?

3- Didn’t he felt humiliated to speak like that on live television?

4- How many people not only in india but around the world share this kind of cheap orthodox thinking?

5- Is there any end to this?

♧♧♧♧♧♧♧♧

What do you think?

♤♤♤♤♤♤♤♤

But what the best part is that whenever such people think themselves to be supreme, then strong women like Faye D’Suza come to put them back in their place.  😎👧

HOMECOMING: Back on WORDPRESS

Standard

Being an Indian kid, you can’t really say that you are over with your exams so I choose to say that “I am on break”. 😀 😛

UPDATE: My exams are over and  I was able to achieve “academic excellence award” and it was my third and last award of last session. One month has been past since my new session started, and I won the “First prize” along with my girls, in which I gave the speech.

NOW I am enjoying my vacations. With every onset of summers, you get to read some cliche blog-posts  like 4 Summer Food Essentials: something that You must have at your home  (damn that had more colors than my life does, LOL).

Don’t worry, I won’t give another version of that. Instead I’ll ask what is summer vacation to you? If summers for you means vacationing on a hill or going for any water sport, then my friend you are one privileged child. Yes, privileged because you are expecting all this. Otherwise for people the only source of entertainment is teasing younger sibling  and talking about future with pet dog. And by god’s grace I have both, so you can imagine how cool my vacations must be.

And if you are imagining that the motive of this post is to highlight the high points of my vacation then no. I just want to say on the Third Anniversary with wordpress that I will keep updating my blog  🙂

A battle should never be left unfought!

Standard

Realizations are always sudden! And during teen age we realize a hell lot of things! About life, society, people and more important about our-selves!

31525_20131109_143511_motivational02

So, one day you wake up and suddenly realize that the world, in which you have been living in was just an illusion, and this realization leaves you shocked! Like a giant wave that comes to your footsteps, looks into your eyes (everything normal and beautiful) and the moment you extend your hands for a warm welcome, it slaps you hard and drags you along. You are trying, struggling to not to get swiped away by using your arms, legs and lungs to the fullest. But everything seems waste. It’s like the wave has come with a motive, to get you drowned. To see you completely submerged in water. Sometimes no matter how much you think that you will swim out, all by yourself. But before fighting we consider our self a loser. But what we forget is that every problem has a solution. We forget that even water pushes you up a few times. It gives you fair chances to fight back. But to rescue yourself, you need to fight. We just need to have patience and keep working towards our goals. Everything will eventually fall in place!:)

That conversation about cancer, which pissed me off!

Standard

Why are social gatherings exciting?
Well for me, it’s an exciting opportunity. An opportunity to know new people and old people better. An opportunity to conduct a little poll about “who will win the coming elections”,works done by present government, etc.
So I was in this party, which was pale. Since, there was nothing for me to do, I took a seat. Soon a girl joined me. And then, as the universe’s rule, we were into talking. Though I have known that pretty girl since childhood as we were common guests at  uncountable parties, gatherings but I never got to know her. So we were into talks when we were joined by her brother. I don’t exactly remember to what she replied  to him saying “Cancer people are infectious, so stay away”.
I absolutely hated the way she, insensitively joked about cancer. And also confused because I could not decide if she was really stupid to call it “infectious” or I was missing the catch. So with a laugh, somewhat similar to Chandler’s office laugh, I clearly told that I am an idiot to not able to understand her.
She continued, “oh, cancer is an infectious disease, you know.” trying to explain me.
Me-(frustrated)” no, it’s not. And is he a cancer patient?”
She– “No, it’s a joke. And ,well there are so many kinds of cancer, koi to hoga hi”
Me– “It’s not like that, when cells divide uncontrollably….” I tried to clear her doubts when she interrupted. This time, trust me, I was terrified to hear her next words.
She– “Who cares about cancer?”

And boom!!!
I never come to conclusions with one incident. I had made myself happy thinking that she was stupid for not having basic knowledge about cancer and moreover she was an insensitive girl. But I was shocked that majority of people present there were equally clueless. Maybe they don’t know it because they never had to face it (touch wood) or maybe because it was not in one of their chapters or just chose to stay mumm, for god knows what reason. But today, our world is not confined to books. It’s way more beyond. There, in that party, everyone was digitally connected to the world. But they are more busy in themselves. In their virtual world. A world which did existed but was equal to not existing. A world all about their demands, their likes, dislikes, happiness, sorrows, hopes, etc. A world, all about them. Yes, that selfish, virtual world!

This world has actually made people selfish. People keep painting themselves in an image, which is completely  different from the real self, so that complete strangers can like them! We keep trying to please someone, who doesn’t stand anywhere in our lives.

Also,I believe that we, teens, aren’t using our privileges properly. We  are well facilitated and equipped with different mass medias and we have access to information more easily. So we have some responsibilities to others, as well. I agree that we can’t  mug up gigantic books and be Mr-know-it-all. Even Jack couldn’t master all. You only need to be curious. Curious about the world around, the happenings, the issues concerning others, like you are about the girl or the guy next door, about knowing the income of any other person or the marks of that famous Sharmaji’s son!

Be a responsible and sensible person. Use your powers wisely. Don’t keep blaming the education system, school authorities etc. because everything can’t be taught. Knowledge can’t be fed, it has to be achieved or earned. Don’t be a fool. If you don’t know something, don’t be lazy and try to look it up. Because you never know when that out of course knowledge turns out to be helpful. Keep educating yourself and break the walls of common myths about diseases. Patients already suffers a lot, don’t make their living more terrible! They have more to deal with than your stupid misconceptions!

Hope

Standard

I just read one of the quote which was sent to me by a dear friend which said “One thing that is more important than Oxygen, Heart beat or even love is HoPe”
But I go with ~Robert G. Ingersoll, who said that
“Hope is the only universal liar who never loses his reputation for veracity. ”
It’s not  because of all the Negativity that’s in my head but he is actually true and makes sense. Hope make us careless. We don’t accept the reality and keep hoping for something that will never happen and with this hope we spend our lives. In the end we are dissatisfied and discontent!  Isn’t it?

When instagram ditched Log out button for iOS!

Standard

One thing that motivates me for waking up is Instagram! Every morning the first thing that I do is to go through my instagram. Because my phone is too old to lift the weight of instagram application so I decided to use it from my father’s iPhone 6. And so does my younger sister (well, she still hasn’t got her personal phone so she uses insta from papa’s phone as well). So, today when my sister went through her instagram profile and when it was finally my turn, she said she couldn’t get “log out” button. Later, when I searched for the button, it was actually not present in its usual place!  After the changes, made by instagram on 29 March, you can post longer videos but can’t log out. The log out button was diched for iOS! Well, they have said that they are working on fix but this wait is how long, no one knows.

But this definitely means two things –
1- Vidisha can’t get her regular fun and can sleep longer!
2- This also means that I can take over my sister’s account!!  Hehahaha #beingevil

ENGLISH: matter of status!

Standard

Warning: This post consist of writer’s personal thoughts, who is just wishing to share and know your opinion. No sentence intends to hurt anyone with any language(especially to English speakers).

I live in a country called India, which has 22 official languages and according to Census of India, the total number of mother tongues spoken here is 1652 and that’s the reason why we don’t have a national language. I know this must have came like “What!” even to many Indians too. But it’s true, Hindi is Rajya Bhasha not Rashtriya Bhasha! This wide difference is the beauty. A nation, comprises of 29 states and 7 union territories have their respective languages and their people are proud of it BUT somehow the language English has outshone others. Today people measure other’s level of intelligence with the number of english words they use in a sentence. The more number of English words used, the more educated he is! English language was chosen by our constitution as associate official language to avoid confusion among people who have different languages as majority of them, irrelevant of their birthplace & mother tongue, could understand English. After all they ruled on us for 200 years and that was uniform throughout! So that, they can converse properly but this language should not be imposed on anyone. I am not denying the importance of English in our country but if two people are comfortable in their own tongues then why this extra pressure of “have to speak two English words”. Why this show off? Why can’t we feel proud on our own language?  Why can’t we be confident about our mother tounge? Why the shame to speak our tongue in front of four people? Every Indian should ponder over these questions.

ps: going extreme with your language is also no option. I mean, killing others because they don’t speak your language is so dumb act. If all have to admit that except English, kaam nahi banne wala hai, but apni bhasha ko thodi izzat to deni chahiye na. This is our responsibility to stop our cultures and languages from extinction. These are our roots, our treasure that we have inherited from previous generations, we should protect it! 🙂

Knowing yourself is important!

Standard

OK! “One” in life achieves a lot but every time that One has to prove himself. The glory of achievement has it’s effect for a shorter duration because every time when he achieves something, a bigger achievement is waiting there, glaring at you. Like it’s saying आओ, आओ ना। देखे िकसमे कितना है दम! Hehehe. I don’t know if it is making any sense or not. I have no idea if you are understanding it or not but I really want this thought to be out of my system and that’s the reason why I am blogging it. Everyone, no matter what he becomes in life, how many good works he did but he will be judged for what he didn’t or couldn’t do!
But I think that during such thoughts it’s important to see yourself from your eyes! Because no one knows you better than yourself. You should know your achievements. At the end of the day, you should be satisfied with yourself. 🙂

Why Love should Win #LoveWins

Standard

USA legalized same sex marriage!! Yoohoo!! Congratulations!! Even twitter is celebrating this day. If you tweet with #LoveWins they will add a rainbow heart !! How cool!!
It will definitely bring a change (for good) in our society. SC’s decision is a tight slap on orthodox people! This decision is not only good for people who wants to get married to same sex but also to straight people!  Yes! Let me explain it to you. Often we hear that people who are Gay or lesbian, etc are forced to marry straight people in order to protect their so called “prestige”. In these cases, both become the victim.   Now those people at least have law by their side. They can marry whom so ever they want. And with this step, people will start accepting themselves which will eradicate many social evils.
I wish same thing happens in India also!

Kapil Dev debuts in Twitter world!

Sachin Tendulkar is considered to be “the God” of Indian cricket history but if there is someone above this God, then he has to be  Kapil Dev ! Every match that he had played are legendary! The hunk of his time still retain his charm. He is 56 and again taught all of us a lesson, “You are never old to try something new!” Yes! Today he has entered in the city of “Twitter” and created a buzz. And if he has entered in this city then it is for sure that soon he’ll be addicted to it! 🙂  His short videos with  personal messages, which he has posted on twitter,  to the celebs like Sania MirzaYuvraj Singh , MS Dhoni, seems that he wants to get noticed in this crowded city. (Sir, how can Super God remain unnoticed!) In all his videos there was something in common. He has talked about his new league! Which is already trending on twitter, India with #EkNayiLeague . This league is interesting because he has not only invited players from cricket to tennis but also to comedian Kapil Sharma (my favorite) 😉 I am  already being impatient to know what will be this league about and if you also want to know, or want to watch his videos then go, follow Kapil Dev on twitter! 🙂 I hope that he genuinely likes the twitter life!
Meanwhile, I am also on twitter, if you want then we can also follow each other and have fun! Vidisha Kaithal
